Let us first say  that you are gorgeous and unique, and aging is natural. From the sunspots on your nose to the smile lines in the corners of your eyes, every part of you tells a story and that should be celebrated. 

That said, we want to help with improving the health of your skin at any stage in life! Here are our top tips for improving the health of your skin and preventing premature aging. 

Minimize Sun Exposure

The number one thing that speeds up the aging of your skin is the sun. A bad sunburn can drastically change your skin; and wearing sunscreen daily can help slow down fine lines and wrinkles caused by the sun’s rays.


Many people think that you should only wear sunscreen when, well, the sun is out. Even if you don’t see the sun, it is always out. It might just be peaking around behind the clouds. Use a high SPF, and reapply every hour or so, more frequently if you jump in and out of the water. 


Many sunscreens can be used before a concealer and foundation; some are tinted and designed to be worn as makeup. Be sure to choose one that has at least an SPF of 30! 


Use a Retinoid

Retinoids are known as the holy grail of skincare products, especially when preventing signs of aging. Retinoidscan be found in products like moisturizers, serums, and even toners, and you can purchase it as is (most are available over-the-counter). 


For retinoids,apply a few pea-sized drops onto the back of your hand, mix into your moisturizer, and apply to your face using upward motions, avoiding the eyes. Use sparingly as too much may cause dryness, redness, and general irritation. 


The best time to use a retinoid is in the evening, after having cleaned your face. If you don’t have retinoid, or if your skin is sensitive to retinoids, antioxidant-rich skincare can also prevent visible signs of aging.

As we mentioned earlier, your face tells a story! While preventing signs of aging comes down largely to sun exposure and the types of skincare products you are using, having a healthy lifestyle can be just as beneficial.

  2. Get 6-8 Hours of Uninterrupted Sleep
  3. Eat Balanced Meals to Nourish Your Body
  4. Take a Walk Outside (Spend Time Moving Your Body Daily)
